Maya and Aztec
Ritual calendars and the 260-day count
Maya daykeepers count a 260-day round, the chol q'ij or tzolk'in, turning numbers one to thirteen against twenty day names. The Aztec tonalpohualli is a cousin with its own language and rites.
A birthday in that round is told as both a burden and a gift. It does not seal a life. This site does not claim a Mayan date that matches every city's inscription, because local counts do not share one epoch.
Use it as a lesson that time can be a wheel, not only a straight line.
